Here are a few tips to improve your online Broadcast Experience:
- Make sure your webcam is working and your audio level is properly adjusted prior to entering a live broadcast. Once you click on Join A Broadcast from an invitation or the home page, click on "Join This Broadcast" if entering a scheduled live broadcast. Enter your full name, email address and click Join Broadcast (if you are a Presenter you will need to click the YES box and enter the presenter code as well). This will take you to Broadcast Instructions where you can easily check your webcam, audio and Internet speed prior to joining a live broadcast. If entering a broadcast manually, enter the information below the red arrow on the right, including the broadcast ID, name and email address. (Guest presenters will need to click the YES box and enter the presenter code as described above.)
- The top left seat is reserved for the broadcast originator. Guest presenters may click on any other available seat when joining a broadcast.
- If at any time during the event you see the other participants freeze or stall on the screen REFRESH your browser, this should restore your system. If this happens repeatedly, the problem is most likely an inadequate Internet connection. Call your ISP, show them your speed test results and make sure you are getting the high speed service for which you are paying. (Very Important Step)
- To increase the size of your screen and eliminate the info bars at the top of the screen, when in a live broadcast:
- Internet Explorer - Press the F11 function key. Press F11 a second time to return to normal view.
- Firefox - Go to View on the menu bar and click "Full Screen". Press F11 to return to normal view.
- Google Chrome - First click the wrench icon on the upper right side of your screen click the + or - zoom button to adjust size then press F-11 to maximize your view (Google Chrome is the preferred browser when on a live broadcast.)
- To improve your Internet performance prior to joining a live broadcast, unplug your router before entering a live broadcast. Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and rejoin your broadcast.
- If the color indicator button in the upper right hand corner of the broadcast screen is green your Internet connection is adequate for live streaming video. If it turns orange it is marginal. If red this indicates you do not have enough Internet speed to successfully attend or present in a broadcast. (In this case call your ISP and have them check to see why your connection is slow.)
